Library Skills Classes

Welcome to the library skills tutorial. This tutorial provides an online environment for digital self-teaching by library patrons and liberates the Librarians from offering time-consuming offline classes.

This tutorial is designed to achieve the following goals:
          To teach you the skills of library and information research; and
          To teach you how to use the Perpustakaan Sultanah Zanariah.
 

1. Category Search

The Category Search facilitates the navigation of tutorials available in the library. This tutorials is a self-paced instructional resource designed to assist University of Technology Malaysia students information literacy skills.

2. Request Library Classes

The Request Library Classes enables academic staff to send an online request for a library class.
There are 3 categories of library skills classes offered :

     a. Basic library skill classes (new students)
     b. Advanced library skills classes (fourth and final year students)
     c. Information skills workshop (Academic staff, new faculty members, researchers and post graduate students)

3. View/Register for Classes

        3.1. Library Class Viewing
Patrons can view the details of a class and register for classes. Patrons can browse availabe classes using by selecting it in the month, by class type and subject/faculty.  The default is the current month with all classes displayed. All the classes will display in the calendar on the dates they are held with a link to the details of the class:
Class type, Time, Subject / faculty, Room and Instructor.

        3.2. Register Class
In order to register a class the patrons must enter his or her barcode and PIN number. Canceling the registeration is also possible.

        3.3. Library Class Feedback
The patron can send feedback to the Librarian after the class has already passed.
