About Smart Library Applications

The Smart Library Applications is provided in order to increase the productivity of the librarians at PSZ and improve the level of service for the patrons. The Smart Library Applications will provide the digital bridge between the Library Management System, the librarian, and the PSZ Patron.

The Smart Library Applications are grouped as follows:

Visitor Tracking: 
Provides facilities for PSZ to track library visitors and encourage joining PSZ as a patron.

Library Skills Classes: 
Provides an online environment for digital self-teaching by library patrons and liberates the librarians from offering time-consuming offline classes.

Reservation System:
A means to organize the resources and usage within PSZ, from booking, to checking in and rules for making use of PSZ equipment.

Media Streaming:
A combination of hardware and software designed to allow PSZ to offer online videos through the library system, both free and for a fee.

Academic Forum: 
A forum for both guests and PSZ patrons to discuss matters pertaining to the library and general interest and for PSZ librarians to moderate those discussions.

Billing: 
An online billing system that allows users to buy access to digital resources and allows librarians to manage pricing of the these items as well as facilitating the integration with the Library Management System through MARC record transfers.

Online Reference Desk:
Facilitates the interaction between library patrons and a virtual reference desk. It offers digital interaction with the reference desk staff in a paperless environment.
